Design of e-sedans has encountered issues of information capture such as network of communication, technology and human touch as well as globalization. Our emphasis is on style design of e-sedan interior components from the viewpoints of kansei engineering for the language of e-products to design the interior components. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships the styles and images of interior components of e-sedans preferred different groups of living styles. The study is divided into 3 parts. The first part is to distinguish the different groups and their characteristics by opinions, individual basic data, evaluation on self-personalities and emphasis on the interior components of sedans. we divide the groups in the metropolis areas into six groups. With the evaluation of self-personalities, the concrete descriptions on each group are available. From the questions of emphasis on interior components of sedans, we can see how much attention each group pays to the elements for the experiment of styles and images of sedans for e-generation and preferences of each group in the next chapter. The second part is investigation, collection of sample of interior components of e-sedans, description of image vocabulary of sample of interior components of e-sedans, image test to find out the corresponding relationships between images of interior components of e-sedans preferred by each group and sample form of interior components of e-sedans and images affecting the preferences. The third part, based on the norm acquired from the second part and preferences of each group, design and make 1:3 sample models of interior components of sedan for image test and verification. Therefore, we can infer that groups of different living styles have different preferences on the styles of interior components of sedans and the corresponding style characteristics are varied as well.
