The current degree of learning satisfaction and the effectiveness of swimming courses in elementary schools in Tainan. 2. The variance of learning satisfaction and the effectiveness of swimming courses on students of different demographic backgrounds. 3. The correlation between the students'' learning satisfaction and the effectiveness of the swimming courses. This study used a questionnaire to collect data. The data includes: 1. The students’ personal data. 2. The students’ degree of learning satisfaction. 3. The effectiveness of the swimming courses. This study used elementary school students in Tainan as the study population. 2300 copies of the questionnaire were sent out, and 1222 valid copies were returned. The effective return rate was 53.1%. This study used descriptive statistics, independence t-test, one-way ANOVA, the Scheffe post hoc analysis method, and Pearson Product-Moment correlation to analyze the collected data. This study found: 1. The elementary school students in Tainan were relatively satisfied with their swimming courses. Their achievements in the courses were good. 2. The evaluations of P.E. teachers by students of different genders did not show significant variance. The evaluations included five dimensions: teaching, attitude, class atmosphere, teaching capability, and testing methods. 3. The evaluations show that the third graders are more satisfied with their P.E. teachers than the first graders are. The individual dimensions showed that the second graders and the third graders gave higher scores in preparation and atmosphere than the first graders did. 4. Students from private vocational high schools were less satisfied with their P.E. classes than students from public high schools, private high schools, and public vocational high schools. Students from public vocational high schools were more satisfied with their P.E. teachers’ preparation than students from public high schools and private vocational high schools, while students from private high schools were more satisfied than students from private vocational high schools. Students from private high schools and students from public vocational high schools were more satisfied with attitude, class atmosphere, and testing methods than students from private vocational high schools, while students from public high schools were more satisfied than students from private vocational high schools.
