This research adopts experiment research design. The sample is 40 grade-six male students randomly selected from 1280 students participating different kinds of after-school activities three days a week. Twenty students (group A) participate in static after-school activities and the other twenty students (group B) in dynamic activities. The total time span is 40 days. The data analysis adopts descriptive statistics, independent sample t- test and repeated measure t-test. The results of the research find the following facts: (1) The results of the before-experiment testing indicate that the body mass index of both groups of students is homogeneous. The physical fitness of both groups can be regarded as the same. (2) The results of the after-experiment testing indicate that the body mass index of group A students increases and group A students also perform better in standing long jump than pre-test. On the other hand, the body mass index of group B students decreases and group B students also perform better in flexibility, muscle adaptability, cardiopulmonary endurance and explosive strength, comparing to their performance in the pre-testing experiment. (3) The results of after-experiments of both groups indicate that the body mass index of group B is lower than that of group A. Furthermore, group B students perform better than group A students in flexibility, muscle adaptability, and cardiopulmonary endurance. Lin , Kuo-Jui 林國瑞 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
