One thousand years later, the Changchou people suited the measure to local conditions that was developing a special system of bringing wasteland under cultivation. Between the Ming Dynasty and the Ching Dynasty, the population of the Changchou palace increased quite soon, but the square measure of plowland in the Changchou didn’t increased. It forced the Changchou people to move abroad. When the Ching government took over Taiwan , and took a uncertain policy. Therefore, the Changchou people move to unexploited Taipei basin to be engaged in reclaiming extensively until the Ching Chun-lung emperor. Owing to reclaiming the land lawfully needs the reclaiming licenses, for this reason, some powerful clans came into existence. They organized the public, provided farm tools, put in a purse, and applied for reclaiming licenses of offices of local government. So many tenants attached themselves to these powerful reclaiming clans to be engaged in reclaiming. For example, the Zan Wei-chan of Se-lin, the Yang Yang-fon clan, the Ho Se-lan clan of Na-hu , and the Lin Zen-sou clan. The reclaiming range of the Lin Zun-shou clan even expanded to Chun-ho and An-kun . These powerful reclaiming clans not only leaded the Changchou people to reclaim the land about one thousand hectare. The most important is that through the cooperation of tenancy to dig water canal contribute excellently to the process of Taipei basin cultivated. In the period, the leading class of the Changchou control economic power primarily. Through collect Big-rent and Water-rent , they held the power of their clans. Subsequently, owing to privated of land, sunrise classes sprigged up to take the place of the powerful reclaiming clans and became the Politician-Merchant leading class. They earned the position of leader through the ways of being in business or donated officer. When facing the people rising in revolt, they maintained neutrality to avoid being involved. In the rising process of leading class, the most important is the rising of Lin Pin-hou clan. In the Ching San-fung emperor, the conflict of different clans were even more furious. The business and politics classes could not help but ask for help of the same clans to keep themselves benefits. Owing to the participation of leading class in fighting with weapons between groups of people, the most serious happening of fighting with weapons between groups of people was fired off. Lin clan of Pan-chiau and Pan Family of Sin-lin leaded the Changchou people to get along the most tangle period. The thesis pay attention to” the Changchou people who reclaimed and developed in Taipei basin”. Through the contracts that the Changchou people who reclaimed and developed in Taipei basin in the period of Manchu Dynasty occupation to explore the developing process of the Changchou clans, we found three models : 1.Pioneer leading class,(Kun-si∼Chien-lung) 2.Politician-Merchant leading class(Chien-lung∼Tao-kung) 3.Battled Politics-Merchant leading class(Tao-kung∼San-fung)
