But in real life a computer teacher in junior high school have to take care of more than 35 students in class. It’s almost impossible for him or her to cope with the individual differences and difficult as well for the students to take down the notes when learning the operation skills. Although there is a lot of useful CAI software available, it’s not tailor made and the teachers who want to use it can’t even modify the content to meet their needs. So developing computer application software tool that helps the teachers make their own CAI software could be of greater use.
A well designed CAI consists of appropriate interface, movie files and practice files. To complete one is not only time-consuming but also requires the skills of programming and designing which many teacher don’t possess. This research is to develop a tool that helps the teachers who even knows nothing about programming and designing to produce CAI software by themselves.
All the teachers have to do is record the instructional movie files and prepare some practice files in advance and then use the tool to publish them to disc or websites as instructional materials for the students. This process is easy to complete without any skills of programming or designing. After published, the students can search and choose the movie files they want on the disc or websites and try the practice files on their demands. Each student can learn in his or her own pace just like one-on-one tutoring. When the class is over, the teacher can collect the works of students and publish them to the websites for the students to learn from each other.
This tool is easy and time-saving for teachers who needs to make their own teaching materials.
