Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 機械與機電工程學系 === 92 === In this study, the transmit interface of Chinese Braille computer systems is redesigned by applying USB and Bluetooth technology to improve inconvenience in usage and installation of former Chinese Braille computers. Furthermore, the transmit interface combining embedded system technology is also used to solve the portable problem of Chinese Braille computers. During the study, the software and hardware of the transmit interface module are designed and achieved. The prototype PCB and the firmware of device module is created and produced. The device driver, API program, and the integration of PC applications are also fulfilled. Then, two embedded architectures that are ARM7DTMI running uCLinux and StrongARM SA1100 running Window CE are used in the research of embedded Braille computer system. The software and hardware of the integrated embedded system are investigated and carried out. The Chinese embedded Braille computer system accomplished in this study not only draw up the roadmap to construct E-Office for visually-impaired users, it’s also applied to be digital assistants for mentally-impaired and physically-impaired users to provide better accessibility in information environment in the future.
