Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 中國大陸研究所 === 92 === The study shows that, village clans have impact on village governance, especially on social and cultural level. Village clans play an important role in villagers’daily life. For example, many ceremonial activities were organized by the village clans’leaders who were not maybe the oldest member of clans and who were retired teachers or cadres. In political level, since The Village Autonomy system was generalized, The Village Committees have become gradually the subject of village power in most villages. Village clans don''t make formal, great impact on political administration. The authority of clans is expected to be replaced by the rule of law, especially once when the democratic system is established on the mainland. Village clans have an influence over elections. The impact which clans make on elections is mainly displayed in voting psychology and tendency. Candidates and their supporters utilize clans or sub-clans as resources and means in the competitive elections. Broadly speaking, the impact clans make on elections is spontaneous, individual, informal and unorganized. Village clans do have negative impact on village elections. But they may also bring about a positive influence in terms of enhancing the competitiveness and fairness of the elections. Village clans are expected continuously to develop even though the rural areas have been gradually modernized. But, as connections and the need for mutual supply among villages continue to increase, village clans will be different from traditional ones.
