It need promoting zoom ratio as well as high image quality. The design of the zoom lens is more difficult than the focus-fixed lens to consider more factors that image position must fix with image constant quality during zooming. The zoom lens of optical is according as the Guass optics of the thin lens with the first order optics formula. The zoom lens design specification needed satisfied. The groups of zoom lens arrange four groups that each group of zoom lens search appropriate lens assembly instead of ideal lens. This paper propose that the first optics design zoom lens a basis theory and use use-definited merit function searching a good starting point. The power of each group can be attained. This paper designs zoom lens to possess high optical zoom ratio、compact lens、high wedge angle and small lens number characteristic. The zoom lens of group arrange to ‘ + - + +’ the power structure mode. The second group is zoom ration function and the third group is compensate function. Secondly, the advantage of this zoom lens is that small 5% of distortion and the total length is smaller than 110mm.
