Taiwan is the area with high density of population, on specific metropolis area, the density is higher than forty thousands people per cubic meter. This factor induces the density of motor vehicle in Taiwan is much higher than that in the country of America and Europe. For example, in Taipei, the major chemical pollutants of air quality include HC, NOX and CO. However the 90.9% of HC, 94.5%of NOX and 99.0% of CO come from the exhaust gas of motor vehicle. The first MRT system of Taiwan which is located in the Taipei metropolis area was build in 1996 and only six transport lines were completed in first stage. The auxiliary transfer scheme was carried out to increase MRT utility and reduce the usage of motor vehicle. For example free transfer bus around MRT station. We focus on the auxiliary transfer scheme in 41 stations of Taipei MRT which has total 60 stations to study the relation of air quality improvement. The parameters in this study include the type of motor vehicle usage, its exhaust emission model, auxiliary transfer bus quantity, public loading and park status around MRT stations. We use designed questionnaire method to survey the effect of air quality improvement by MRT system from different parameters and provide the reference to government. Chang, Y.
