These benefits offer great potential for the application of the new generation flat panel display. In this dissertation, we have synthesized polymer MEH-PPV, poly [2-methoxy 5-(2-ethylhexoxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene], with varied molecular weights via controlled polymerization conditions. Opto-electronic properties of these polymer films with or without two fluorescent dyes (DCJTB; PTOEP) have been investigated through the fabrication of the flexible polymer light-emitting devices (PLEDs) on PET substrates. The effects of molecular weight (Mw) and polydispersity (PDI) on emission properties and the morphology of polymer film are discussed by the measurements of Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
