When the production starts, the process can not be interrupted and the unfinished products will be stored in the space also containing the FG. The storage space is limited and any products over the limits will be discarded due to the special environment at conditions to maintain the products In addition, FG stoned over a certain time will also be discarded. Two approaches are developed to have a better control of the production. First, a Constant Working-In-Process (CONWIP) policy is used to maintain a certain level of the WIP and FGs in the storage space. The production will not start until an order is confirmed. A moving time window is defined to calculate the average demand within the time interval, and the CONWIP is dynamically changed according to the average demand. The second approach is to calculate the Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) to minimize the total cost. Similar to the first approach, the EPQ is dynamically changed using the moving time window technique. Simulations using simulations, two approaches are tested against the current system. The results show that the selection of better approach depends on the characteristics of demand. Horng S-M. 洪叔民 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 69 zh-TW |
