Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 化學工程系碩士班 === 92 === Air pollutants, such as SOx and HCl, emitted from the stack are under investigation in this thesis. According to the codes of National Institute of Environmental Analysis (NIEA), two accepted methods were announced on the SOx analysis:Precipitation titrimetry and Continuous analysis. Precipitation titrimetry (NIEA A405.70A) requires the observation of the color change in indicators to determine the end point of the titration. As a result, the precision of this method relies upon the accuracy of the human eye during the change of the color, which may deviate with different operators. Therefore, this study tries to use the technique of ion chromatography to compensate the prior disadvantage. Results show that the use of ion chromatography is a reliable method with highly accuracy and good repeatability. This method requires the sampling of the pollutants on site and the implementation the analysis at the lab, which is tedious and time consuming. However, the technique of ion chromatography is announced by US EPA as an alternative method to measure the quantity of HCl, which is proved to be an efficient method with high accuracy. This thesis is aimed to establish a standard method of ion chromatography for SOx and HCl measurements, including the setup procedures for calibration curves and the detection limit of the method and quality control procedures.
