Summary: | 碩士 === 東海大學 === 建築學系 === 92 === Many buildings remain unused and became ruins but show some kind of attracting atmosphere, we feel it but it’s hard to be named. In renewing cases of old buildings we usually take practicability as the major rule and the goal, but I suspect that ruins combined landscape transforms to poetry as well as some parts of genius loci.
Absorb the romantic elements into a place as the spirit of renewing old remained buildings and a new direction/ thought of reusing discarded land, also consider functions and value of spaces to make it practicable/ workable. This thesis presents space experience through design process as well as transforms site narratives and architectural concepts into substantial space which can be experienced, eventually puts these things together to a widespread rule applicable to other design processes to poeticize architecture.
The phases of discussing poetry in architecture and landscape:
5. Poetics as a description: refer to other descriptive science to construct a descriptive method for architecture, space, and site comes from a poetic point of view.
6. Construction of heterotopias: in this phase we conclude narrative spatial experience by Foucault’s heterotopias concepts, also called heteropology. 6 rules of heterotopias can be used choosing site and conserving heterodox.
7. Enclosed theme: any narrative is an enclosed section, a discourse. There must to be a harmonious but oppositional relationship between a site and its neighborhood to enforce the narrative. It establishs an unique theme as the values of this enclosed discourse for setting up switches for entering this heterotopias.
8. Precise description of sites: Poetic spaces come from a precise description under this enclosed theme. That means an accidental-like punctum is actually a discovery of slight and hidden context. Absolutely ambiguity and unexpectedness both are allowed when satisfying the setup.
