In the present thesis, the type of normal Gaussian size distribution is adopted. From the simulation results, it is found that the collection efficiencies of Brownian particles with large size distribution are higher than those of particles with narrow size distribution. It is also found that the interaction energy curves of DLVO theory and the fluid velocity play an important role in determining the collection efficiency of Brownian particles. The collection efficiency for the case of considering shadow effect is higher than that of the case without considering shadow effect.
