碩士 === 慈濟大學 === 護理學研究所 === 92 === The purpose of this study to evaluate the quality of med-surgical nursing care in community hospital in eastern Taiwan. Nursing quality evaluation tools were utilized from Hsu et al. (2002) established Orthopedic Nursing Care Quality evaluation tools, modified the Rush Medicus Tool -Monitoring the Quality of Nursing Care. Base on the concepts of nursing process and patient’s needs, includes four objectives and twenty-two sub objectives. The content validity was tested by experts` opinions, the value of CVI is 0.91.The inter-rater reliability was 96.4%; the intra-rater reliability was 100%. Sampling from medical-surgical inpatient was Random. Research subjects were classified into three different types according to modified Proto Type Classification System. An appropriate questionnaire will be used to evaluate the quality of nursing care. Information regarding data source were patient record, patient observation, patient interview, nursing personnel interview, nursing personnel observation, and patient environment observation and observer inference. The result showed that the four objective; formulating a nursing care plan ,attending patients` physical need, attending patients` psycho-social need, the achievement of objective; quality scores were 82.9、88.5、81.6、81.3.The score for “attending patients` physical need” was the highest in type 1、type 2 and type 3 patient. The type 1 patient had low scores on “the achievement of objective”. The type 2 and type 3 patient had low scores on” attending patients` psycho-social need”. The results will help nurse to know the situation of nursing process, and provide nursing administrators to improve the quality of nursing care. This results will establish the base of continue nursing quality evaluation.
