碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 92 === In recent years, data mining and knowledge discovery from databasesreceive a lot of attentions and have been successfully applied to manyareas. As the growth rate of health care expenditures has been accelerated in recent years, health examination has become a basis ofhealthcare and it is recognized that the results of health examinationsusually play an important role in early alters of chronic diseases. In this thesis, we apply the techniques data mining to healthcare datacollected from the health examination of campus freshmen. We try to cluster students based on their departments, ages, living regions, and demographic features and apply different techniques of data miningaccordingly. Association rules are found from the databases, connecting the relationships among symptoms of possible diseases. Clusters of similar symptoms are considered among these students. We conduct several experiments and reveal many interesting results.
