At present, the notebook computer productions are mainly controlled by Taiwanese manufacturers, accounting for more than 65% notebook computer production output in the global market, and providing OEM/ODM services to the major global brand name companies such as Dell, HP, IBM, etc. LCD-TV is a high-tech product with high growth potentials and is deemed as the next-wave star product for many Taiwan high-tech manufacturers. Many manufacturers have already invested heavily in the development of LCD TV products such as NB OEM manufacturers and the Home Appliance companies. They intend to gain a share of pie of the future LCD TV market. The main purpose of this research is to investigate whether TDS program applied in notebook computer supply chain can also be applied to future LCD TV supply chain. The research results can be used as a reference for the global logistics strategy of LCD TV manufacturers. Major conclusions and suggestions of this research are as follows: 1. TDS is a lean logistics practice which allows the reduction of risk and inventory level in notebook PC global supply chain.. 2. The profit of LCD-TV is higher than the PC at present, therefore, there are many companies investing in the production of LCD TV. 3. Digital programs will begin broadcasting and substitute for the traditional analogue programs, future digital televisions will gradually replace the traditional analogue televisions. 4. LCD-TV after-service should be on customer site. 5. LCD-TV is positioned between the information products and the home appliances product; both industry players are vigorously promoting their products. 6. The NB global supply chain operational model may be a good reference to LCD TV global supply chain.
