Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 日本語文學系 === 92 === This research studies on two issues in Inoue Yasushi’s historical novels in advance research: definition for historical novel, and insufficiency of innermost description. About definition for historical novel, this research adopts the viewpoints of those who possess positive opinions on Inoue’s novels, and define it. That is: what Inoue Yasushi wants to describe is on human but not history. His historical novels are symbolic drama of humanity based on the historical frame, so they are also told for modern people. As to insufficiency of innermost description, this research re-define his novels by analyzing the characters with keywords like "symbolic drama of humanity ", "stories for modern people" and so on.This research thoroughly analyze and criticize Inoue’s novels: ‘Shikkoson’, ‘Gyokuwanki’, ‘Chokembou oboegaki’, ‘Iiki no hito’, ‘Sogyoga no namida’ and ‘Tempyo no iraka'' (‘The Roof Tile of Tempyo''). These analysis and criticism, which discusses the issues of identity, are inspected from different angle, namely, the image of characters.
