It is also often planted in garden and roadside , and has folkloric reputation for medicinal properties such as anti-rheumatism , circulation promoting and insecticidal activities . From the acetone extracts of the flowers of this plant , eleven components were obtained by column chromatography . These compounds are long chain ester of ferulic acid 、p-hydroxybenzoic acid、phytosterols (campesterol , 12.82﹪、stigmasterol , 56.75﹪、β-sitosterol , 29.43﹪) 、β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucoside、ursolic acid、oleanolic acid、olean-12-en-3β,28-diol、3-epi-lupeol、β-amyrin、alpinumisoflavone、pongaglabrone , the structure of these compounds were identified by spectrometric and chemical methods .
