It adopted the method of qualitative research, and aimed at the eleven dropouts’ parents in Taichung City to collect the material with the semi-structured interviewing method. After arranging and analyzing the data, the discoveries are as follows: I. The persons that take care of the dropouts mainly are not always their parents. The relationships can expand to be with the grandparents, or other relatives and friends. Seeing from the family conditions of the research objects, the actual parenting bearers can be divided into of parent parenting role, supplementary parenting role, and substitute parenting role. Under the reciprocal effect of the complexity of a care giver’s parenting role and the diversity of a dropout’s problematic behaviors, a child may drop out from school. II. The parents of dropouts will strengthen the discipline to react to the crisis when they are coping with the children’s problematic behaviors such as dropout, and they will solve the problems by plans simultaneously. They will also help themselves to skip from the negative sentiment for children’s education by means of changing the mind, and seek for new parenting motive power. At the aspect of looking for the social support, they get the emotional supports or concrete assistance through relatives and friends, neighbors, school teachers, social resources, and the power of religious belief. III. The parents of dropouts will have to endure the parenting stress from the children, the parents themselves, and the family when they deal with the children’s problematic behaviors such as dropout. The factors from children include the pressure of discipline and the emotional stress of the falling of expectations. The factors of the parents themselves include the insufficient capacity to play the role, the multiple restrictions of the role, the hesitation of throwing themselves into the roles, the few support systems, and the unhealthiness. The factors from the family include the economic pressure, the work of special property, and the family’s special situations. Fang-Hsi Chiu 邱方晞 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 171 zh-TW |
