碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 新聞研究所碩士在職專班 === 92 === The Internet is not only a fast-developing medium, but a new mechanism for recording and valuing traditional female experience which is in need of our understanding. In view of this, the study attempts to find out the role the Internet plays in female empowerment through a case study of Shesay.com. The goal is to examine and reflect technology empowerment though women’s personal practice in the online female community. This research uses the indepth interview and participant observation and questionnaire surveys . The findings suggest that the power of online communication may create a new channel for wired_women to speak out. Female netizens’ effort to reach out for and participate Shesay.com, however, simply duplicate more the male-dominant world to the cyberspace than strengthen their ability to improve women’s well being and rights.
