Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 觀光事業研究所 === 92 === The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of thematic interpretation on the environmental knowledge and environmental attitudes of the fifth and sixth grade students. Thematic interpretation is an approach that intends to limit the content of interpretation on a main topic. It helps the interpreter not to provide overwhelming information to his / her audience. The research adopted the experimental method. The pre-test-posttest control group design was used. Shiao-Yu-Kun recreational area in Yangmingshan National Park was selected as the research site, and the fifth and sixth grade students following the school trips to the site during the survey (July 2003 to January 2004) were chosen as the respondents. The experiment chose sulfur as the theme of the interpretation. The interpreter used a traveling box which contained the materials relating to sulfur in the experimental group, while no traveling box was used in the control group. The findings show that the gap between the pretest and posttest on both the environmental knowledge and attitudes is much higher in the experimental group than that is the control group. This indicates that the effect of thematic interpretation using traveling box is better.
