Nowadays, the development of electronic commerce is extremely important for enter-prises remain their competition. EDI (electronic data interchange) is one of the impor-tant information technologies to construct an electronic commerce business infrastruc-ture between enterprises.
Traditional EDI transfers EDI messages via high-cost VAN (value added network), and the data format to perform the exchange is very complicated without the flexibility. Therefore traditional EDI has not widely adopted. However, with the maturity and popularity of Internet technologies, Internet-based EDI applications will lead develop of EDI technologies.
Problems occur during the EDI process when enterprises with heterogeneous sys-tems platforms, such as systems can not communicate and exchange data with each other. Web Services technology is used to integrate distribute computing platforms, and A Web Services based EDI framework is developed to solve these problems. The com-munications between program components in different systems are simpler.
