When implementing those security technologies, the surveillance system plays an important role. However, criminals usually block their face to avoid that the surveillance system records their face information. In this paper, we propose a novel mask detection method to check if a person blocks their mouth by a mask. First, we use the Gabor filters to generate facial features. Second, we utilize geometric analysis algorithms to determine if this person wears a mask. Finally, we use experimental results to show the performance and reliability of our method.
