Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 92 === This thesis proposes a methodology to solve the problems encountered in the generation of NC cutter paths in finishing operations of shoetree machining. Specific research issues include the input of data points, the insertion of data points, the determination of cutting-tool orientations, the avoidance of gouging, the generation of NC codes, etc. The procedures are listed as follows:
(1)Modify the arrangement and the positions of the input data points.
(2)Create curves in longitudinal direction and insert points on the curves.
(3)Create curves in latitudinal direction and insert points on the curves.
(4)Determine appropriate orientations for cutting tools.
(5)Elevate the cutting tools along their tool axes to generate the gouging-free points of ball-end mill.
(6)Generate cutting-tool paths.
(7)Generate 4-axis NC machining codes.
In addition to proposing the methodology to automate the generation of 4-axis NC machining codes for shoetree machining, this thesis adopts ACIS as the geometric kernel to develop a Windows-based prototype system to verify the proposed methodology and the procedures. In this developed system, the calculation of NC cutter paths for massive data points can be done in a very short time, which verifies the breakthrough ideas proposed in this research
