A Study of Switching Transient Phenomenon with High Voltage Shunt Reactors

碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 電機工程系 === 92 === In high voltage power system, it is often necessary to compensate the capacitive reactive power by shunt reactors. These reactors are switched frequently, depends on the load variation. The switching operation of circuit breaker of shunt reactors will cause trans...

These reactors are switched frequently, depends on the load variation. The switching operation of circuit breaker of shunt reactors will cause transient over-voltages due to current chopping and re-ignition . This thesis investigates the transient phenomenon during the switching operation of the shunt reactors. Firstly, in this study the EMTP is used to simulate and analyze the transient phenomenon. The results of the computer simulation have been proved to check the field testing of 33kV shunt reactor set connected with SF6 circuit breakers and verify the circuit model of simulation. An appropriate condenser values in parallel with the reactors will be applied to improve the transient phenomenon. The valuable result is useful for the reference of power electrical department.
