They are modified tri-band Tab monopole antenna, double Tab tri-band monopole antenna and tri-band inverted-F monopole antenna, respectively. The proposed antennas are designed to operate in 2.4GHz (2.400-2.484GHz) and 5GHz (5.150-5.350/5.725-5.825 GHz) bands for WLAN applications in IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11b systems. We analyze the theory of radiation, design methods of these three antennas and compare the advantages and the drawbacks of them. The simulation tool IE3D is used to reduce the design time.
