The fabricated PZ crystals allowed normal adhesion and growth of 3T6 and AGS cells. The frequency response of the sensing crystal partially followed the process of cell cultivation, while a direct and simple relationship between the frequency shift and cell numbers was not established when the cell number was over 10,000. We then utilized this PZ biosensor to monitor the addition effect of cecropin B-1 (CB-1), an antimicrobial peptide, on each mammalian cell that had been cultivated for 24 hours. The addition of 20~ 40 μM CB-1 caused a significant frequency decreased for AGS cancer cells, while the frequency of the 3T6 cell crystal decreased only when >150μM CB-1 was added. These results indicate that the cell attachment and the drug effect can be real-time assayed by this PZ cell biosensor system. Hsiu-Mei Chen 陳秀美 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 99 zh-TW
