碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 建築系 === 92 === The focal point of the thesis is concerning Japanese residential building measurement system study. It is mainly divided into two parts, which are the theory and case studies. The theory discuss about the origin and development of Japanese building measurement system along with what are the major measurement in the system. The factors to influence the measurement and so on. The focus of the thesis is to understand the specialties of Japanese residential building measurement system through historical materials and data collection from books. The case studies mainly emphasize on the comparison between the above residential building measurement statistic result with the historical (residential blueprints) and actual residential building cases during the Japanese colonial period . In order to recognize whether the building measurement system of Japanese residential in Taiwan related to which in Japan. Also, the researcher will discuss what are the factors to result in the differences between the buildings in these two countries. In addition, we will further try to understand what makes the residential building size changes during the war (quoted from "The Introduction of Taiwan Building") through the comparison with the residential building built at peace. The thesis consists of six chapters and the content of each chapter are in the following: Chapter One Introduction The motivation and goal of the research, review of the documents, research cases as well as category, research method and so on. Chapter Two The origin and development of Japanese residential building measurement system Introduce the traditional Japanese building measurement, the meaning of module, and the origin and development of Japanese residential building measurement system. Chapter Three Japanese residential building measurement plan and building construction application Explain the residential building measurement system.(include “ken” module, section height, component size) Chapter Four The factors to influence residential building size in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period Introduce what are the factors to influence the measurement size, such as government regulation, timber size, and the restriction of the residential building size. Chapter Five Japanese Style Residential Building measurement in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period Historical blueprint and actual residential building case statistic studies. In order to compare with the Taiwan Japanese residential building measurement and Japanese residential building, and residential building sizes at war and peace. Also explain the factor of differentiation. Chapter Summary Illustration the relationship between the building measurement system of Japanese residential in Japan and which in Taiwan according the above research outcome.
