In this thesis, we will design a music search architecture comprising diverse input and search modes, improved melodic description, and powerful music interchange format to fulfill this goal. Using interval as a basis for melodic comparisons confers several benefits over using absolute pitch. The most significant one is key independence. So we will combine interval and rhythm information to strengthen melodic description, which will provide users more accurate results and flexible search modes. Besides, there are several problems specific to content-based music retrieval, such as key mismatch, input error, result browsing, and difficulty in melodic extraction. We will also bring forward some viable solutions in response to the problems mentioned above. Wen-Chin Chen 陳文進 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 56 zh-TW
