Through consulting the experiences in United Kingdom and Singapore and interviewing with the education faculties in primary schools to find out the solutions for the authorities concern promoting the plan and implementation of information technology curriculum. In order to understand the implementation status of information technology curriculum, the researcher gathered the related documents and visited three staffs of information division at education bureau in Taipei County at first. Then the researcher visited the staffs in three schools to investigate what problems they faced with information technology curriculum. According to the results of the interviews to develop two questionnaires “ Research on Implementation Status of information technology curriculum- the chief of information technology curriculum” and “ Research on Implementation Status of information technology curriculum- the teachers of information technology curriculum” ,then sampled from 203 primary schools in Taipei County to reveal the difficult situation they faced. Finally the researcher integrated the solutions to the difficulty from the interviews of the related staffs, results of the questionnaires and documents. A conclusion drawn from the analysis of the information acquired is as follows: 1.Implementation of information technology curriculum needs integrated plans and support measures. 2.Small schools have an advantage in using computers. 3.Large schools face with the shortage problem of information technology equipment much easier than other schools. 4.Key schools need to enhance the assistance and coordination in inter-schools. 5.The different levels of students is the main teaching problem. 6.Education authorities should act as the leader in planning and integrating the teaching resources. Based on the above-mentioned, the researcher suggests as follows: 1.The technologists and teachers of information technology curriculum in primary schools should separate into specialized field and accept the professional training. 2.The higher authorities should assist primary schools in setting up the information education plans to gain the fund from each department. 3.The education authority should set up the professional institute to administer development and research of information technology curriculum. 4.Schools could choose the model of information technology curriculum on their needs and abilities. 5.Recommendations to further research: (1)Although this research divides implementation of information technology curriculum into administrative planning, teachers’ literature, information technology curriculum and instruction, teaching materials and equipment and network environment, each phase covers a rather broad scope. The further researches could delve one phase only to understand more about the current status and difficult situation of implementation of information technology curriculum. (2)Cause of the questionnaires of this research answered by the chief and teachers of information technology curriculum, the further research could focus on leaders and general teachers of primary schools to find out more implementation status and problems of information technology curriculum. (3)Due to the limited time and the researcher’s foreign language ability, this research just probed the information technology curriculum in United Kingdom and Singapore.
