In an applied magnetic field, the properties of the magnetic fluid will change very quickly due to the variation of the magnetic field strength. In this study, an optical measurement was done on the magnetic fluid placed inside the tested glasses. The thicknesses of the magnetic fluid are 0.1mm、0.2mm、0.3mm、0.4mm and 0.5mm, respectively. The heights from the applied magnetic field to the fluid are set as 5mm, 10mm, 15mm, and 20mm. In addition, the magnetic field strength is included and varied to observe the effects of transmission rate of the magnetic fluid. The results show that the farther the applied magnetic field from the test sample is, the larger the magnetic field strength is needed and the higher the power consumes. Througth this study, it is expected that the results will facilitate the prospective designs of energy window.
