1. to detect the relationship among family types, fathers’ individual factors, paternal involvement intention, involvement behavior, and involvement perception.
2. to explore the relationship between the variables of individual background and involvement behavior.

4. to explore the relationship among fathers’ individual factors, paternal involvement intention, involvement behavior.

6. to explore the relationship among paternal involvement intention, involvement behavior, and involvement perception.
7. to summarize the results of this study, in order to provide suggestions for fathers, company, school and future researches.
According to literature search and pilot-study, an “ Paternal Involvement Scale” was made, and 535 samples were surveyed using this scale. The data were statistically analyzed by Pearson’s product-moment correlation, one-way ANOVA, t-test, stepwise regression analysis and canonical correlation analysis. Forty samples were also surveyed by the method of observation.
The conclusions of this study are as follows:
1.There were significant correlations between family types, fathers’ individual factors, paternal involvement intention, involvement behavior, and involvement perception.
2. The variables of individual background, such as “fathers’ ages”, “social economic status”, “daughters’ ages”, “sons’ ages”, “work hours”, “fatherhood ages”, “ baby-sister assist take care children”, can influence paternal involvement behavior.
3. The relation between family types and paternal involvement intention is none related.
4. There were partly correlations between family types and paternal involvement behavior.
5. In the variables of fathers’ individual factors, such as “paternal skills”, “role identity”, “gender attitude”, can predict the paternal involvement intention.
6. In the variables of fathers’ individual factors, such as “paternal skills”, “gender attitude”, “early childhood experience”, can predict the paternal involvement behavior.
7. Family types and fathers’ individual factors can predict paternal involvement intention, involvement behavior.
8. Paternal involvement intention can predict involvement perception.
The conclusions were drawn based on previous findings, some suggestions were proposed for fathers, company, school and future research.
