Summary: | 碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 醫護教育研究所 === 92 === To provide safety treatment environment for the admitted patients is the most important indicator to promote the quality of patient health. In order to understand the true meaning of patient safety, the study not only explored the emergent situations of admitted patients in medical centers, but also confirmed the clinical nurses’ emergent competencies in medical center to meet the emergent situations. The modified Delphi technique was adopted and 20 emergency experts were selected from the code blue team of 12 medical centers. All experts participated 3-rounded questionnaires with a return rate of 100%.
The result indicates that eight categories and 73 items emergent situations and 126 items emergent competencies were confirmed. The importance and occurrence of these situations and competences were cross analyzed. The situations which valued highly in both importance and occurrence among all have 25 items, while the ones valued highly in importance but moderate occurring situations have 40 items. The ones valued highly in importance but low occurring situations have 8 items. The emergent competences in the medical centers valued highly in both importance and occurring among all eight categories 126 items have 112 items, while the ones valued highly in importance but moderate occurring have nine items, the ones which valued highly in importance and low occurring have four items. the ones which valued moderate in both importance and occurring have one item. Meanwhile, the medical centers nursing staffs also be expected to possess competencies by career stages (hire, initial and ongoing stages), 59 items of hire competences, 60 items of initial competences, and 52 items of ongoing competences. Yet two items of emergent competences in medical centers are not to be categories owing to reach less 50% consensus between the experts .
The conclusion can be provided not only as the foundation of modular course for nursing colleges but also as a criterion to select the new nurses. Furthermore, it could be a tool of self-evaluation and the foundation of nurse continue education.
