Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 護理研究所 === 92 === Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate induced abortion rate during 1965-98 in Taiwan. This study design is a quantitative research of secondary data analysis. The data is also examining the effect of age, period, and cohort using Poisson regression modeling. The subjects of this study were the women aged between 20 to 39 years old. Using the family and fertility surveys as the research tool. There were 6 sections involved in this structural questionnaire. Household condition was concerned at the first. Then, it brought up the questions about history of marriage and fertility. Next, it addressed subjects’ attitudes, knowledge, practice toward family plan. After that, it brought up the questions on using contraception at first time and the attitudes toward abortion and sterilization. And then, it also mentioned the couple’s background, and how many children and what sex they prefer. Finally, it asked about subjects’ adherence to traditional patterns, life style, housing and income. The data analysis is processed with SPSS10.0 software, the demographics data is shown with percentage, and the In APC Modeling is used with SAS software. From 1965 to 1998, Taiwan had perform eight family and fertility surveys data. Therefore, the aim of quantitative research are to reliese the condition of induced abortion persons, to understand contraception knowledge condition, to understand induced abortion tendency. In conclusion, the In APC Modeling is shown an increase in age effect and period effect, but not in cohort effect. From 1965 to 1998, the livebirth rate 87.9% to 75.1%, which increased by years later, induced abortion rate 3.2% to 14.3%, has an increased tendency been seem, contraception knowledge 54.0% to 99.8%, had increased tendency. The subjects’ conceptions of oral pill, condom, and vasectomy contrast with 977 (31.7%) to 1238 (96.3%), 894(29.0%) to 1167(90.7%), and 1058(34.3%) to 1143(88.9%) were increased gradually. The tendency of contraception knowledge increased dramatically because of the government health politic announcing and the changing environment. Research found that the increased tendency of abortion rate has resulted in the decrease of fertility rate. The strengthening of contraception knowledge does not make abortion rate decreased, but increased. Women in childbirth can provide appropriate contraception methods, and the tendency of abortion rate can be decreased.
