The study addresses whether music teachers are using community resources to assist teaching effectively or not, and seeks to promote music teachers having the concept to use community resources to assist teaching. It is hoped that teachers can guide students to know community culture, to appreciate regional art activities, to expend studying range, to respect customs conditions and to be concerned about community. In order to achieve the goal of study, the data were gathered using a questionnaire, a survey of applications of community resources by music teachers in Kaohsiung-Pingtung region, designed by the investigator specifically for the study. The subjects were senior high school, junior high school and elementary school music teachers who had taught in Kaohsiung-Pintung region. A total of 181 music teachers completed the questionnaires. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to compute the percentage, mean and standard deviation. A single-factor ANOVA and Post Hoc test were performed. Based on the findings of this research, the conclusions were the following: 1. The attitude of applications of community resources to assist teaching by teachers is not positive enough, reducing the benefit which teachers and students derive. 2. School and teachers are the key point for advancing applications of community resources to assist teaching. 3. The first step of applications of community resources to assist teaching is to collect and arrange the data of community music resources. 4. The best way to facilitate application of community resources to assist teaching by teachers is using strategy well.
