During the research process, this study explores the contents which students express in their homebooks , discovers the additional functions of homebook, and explains how to overcome the difficulty. Finally, implications and suggestions of this study are made to aid the use of homebook in junior high schools. The subjects of this research are students in the fourth class in second grade in “ Da-Da junior high school” in 91st school year, their parents and tutors. This research adopts the action research oriented methods. Researchers encourage students to express themselves freely in the open field, invite parents to talk through homebooks with their children and the tutor, and leave some words to every student in homebooks every day. During the interaction with students, find that every student is like one another attractable story book. How do the various story plots develop? I explore them such as the story book “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer''s Stone.” And it’s very hard to detach every student’s story from the whole meaningful class life. I regard every student’s presentation as the backbone of this research, and attach “parents’ words” and “teacher’s words” to generalize and analyze. And then I appreciate this case study’s fascinating junior high school life. The conclusions and suggestions of this research are: 1. conclusions: (1) The change of the form and use in homebook improves the “teacher-student interaction,” “parent-teacher communication,” and “parent-child relationship.” (2) The students in this case study perform various and attractive junior high school life in their homebooks. (3) The homebook of this case study has many additional functions. (4) By affirming “the process is more meaningful than the outcome,” the researcher conquers the difficulty and finds the ways to solve problems. 2. suggestions: (1) Communication through homebooks is just an alternative way to improve “teacher-student interaction,” “parent-teacher communication,” and “parent-child relationship.” (2) Accept and appreciate students’ various performances. (3) Suggestions to future researchers: keep on developing the additional functions of the homebook.
