Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 教育學系 === 92 === The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the function of Parent Organizations and school effectiveness in elementary school in Kaohsiung City. This study also can be a reference material to make an improvement on Parent Organizations and to enhance school effectiveness. There are five purposes of this study. First is to understand the situation of Parent Organizations in elementary school. Second is to make a research for the situation of school effectiveness. Third is to analyze the relationship between Parent Organizations and school effectiveness. Forth is to examine the prediction, which Parent Organizations can provide to school effectiveness. Fifth is to make some concrete suggestions on improving Parent Organizations and enhancing school effectiveness. This study proceeds in two ways. One is literature review and the other is questionnaire. At the part of the questionnaire, the samples are 1118 teachers and parents in 43 elementary schools in Kaohsiung City. The total number of returning questionnaire is 984, which is 88.01 percent of returning rate. 886 are usable which is 79.25 percent of usable rate. The material for this study is “the questionnaire of the function of Parent Organizations and school effectiveness”. The analyzing methods are mean, percentage, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression. The results of this study are as followed: 1.The status quo of Parent Organizations in elementary schools is satisfying. 2.School effectiveness in elementary schools are adequate. 3.Different gender, region, age, scales of school, position and the academic background will make significant differences on Parent Organizations. 4.Different gender, region, age, scales of school, position and the academic background will make significant differences on school effectiveness . 5.The function of Parent Organizations is obviously in direct proportion to school effectiveness. The better Parent Organizations can be, the better school effectiveness can be done. 6.The function of Parent Organizations is a predicator of school effectiveness and also the manipulation of funds is the main predicative verity. According to the results, which I mentioned above, here are some suggestions: A. For Parent Organizations and school effectiveness: 1.Encourage teachers and parents to take a part in Parent Organizations thus can enhance school effectiveness. 2.Build a diversity human database for parents to participate school affairs and also enhance school effectiveness. 3.Through strengthen the mechanism of parents on participation and decision, the ideas can be inspired and the entire effectiveness can be elaborated. 4.Make a good use of the funds of Parent Organizations to improve the function of school effectiveness. 5.Keep on the passion, the experience and the effectiveness of Parent Organizations chairman thus can enhance the function of Parent Organizations in schools. 6.Adjust the scale of schools or combine small schools to facilitate school management. 7.Use the function of Parent Organizations abroad as a reference to improve and enhance ours. 8.Manage Parent Organizations practically to enhance school effectiveness . B. For future research 1.Rich the content. 2.Improve the materials of research. 3.Enlarge objects and the level of schools. 4.Combine many research methods and also emphasize on quantity and quality equally.
