Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 美勞教育學系碩士班 === 92 === The school public space provides students with an area to rest, to socialize, to explore, to feel, to experience and to learn, also it creates a great academic spectacle and serves as an element of academic image. This research explored the relationships between the school spatial planning and the effectiveness of teaching arts and humanities learning area in nine-years integrated curriculum. The purpose of this study intended to synthesize the design guidelines to advocate the teaching needs of arts and humanities learning area and environmental education through analyzing the different school spatial design patterns. The research methods used in this study began with an intensive literature review. The Inspecting Engineering Law, and the six urban image elements-areas, passages, landmarks, dots, edges, rendered by Kevin Lynch was used to assort the types of school spatial planning. The second stage of this research continued with the field trips to thirteen elementary schools located in Taoyuan County, which were classified by their scope, history, and campus size. The research findings included a presentation of the existing elementary schools spatial design for teaching space and the future needs of arts and humanities teaching. Besides, it proposes the difference of the space planning modes between modem elementary schools and traditional elementary schools. The recommendations in this study ineluded the design guidelines for school spatial planning and the space needs for effectively teaching arts and humanities learning area in schools. The future study directions for investigating academic space modes was also suggested.
