Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 美勞教育學系碩士班 === 92 === The main purposes of this study are in the following: 1.Understanding the attitudes toward art of the elementary school students. 2.Exploring the differences of the attitudes toward art of the elementary school students within the social popularity variation. 3.Exploring the differences of the attitudes toward art of the elementary school students before and after the implementation of the curriculum in the category of Arts and the Humanities. 4.According to the results, to have a suggestion to improve art education in elementary school. This study was used both questionnaire survey and interview. The main targets were graded 3rd to 6th of the elementary school students in the Middle areas of Taiwan (including Taichung county, Taichung city, Changhwa county and Nantou county). There are two steps to select samples. First one was picked up from both the cities and the countries. The second step was selected from both the general class and the art-educated class. The total samples were 1295. The instrument of this study were “Basic Information and Family Social-economical Standard Checklist ” and the “Questionnaire of the Students’ Attitudes Toward Art ”. The collected data of this study was analyzed by the descriptive statistics and one-way MANOVA . The results of the study are in the following: 1.The attitudes toward art of the elementary school students mainly possessed positive tendency, but not strong enough. 2.The differences of elementary students’ attitudes toward art within the different social popularity variation are as follows: (1) The gender was a significant variation among the all or the sub layers of the attitudes toward art. The girls possessed more positive attitude than the boys. (2) The class (art-educated class or general class) was a significant variation among the all or the sub layers of the attitudes toward art. The art-educated class students possessed more positive attitude than the general class students. (3) The grade was a significant variation among the all layers especially in “the attitude towards learning art”, ”the attitude towards art-capability”,and “the attitude towards involving art-activities” these sub layers of the attitudes toward art. The middle group students possessed more positive attitude than the senior group students. (4) There is no significant variation among the all or the sub layers for the art attitude between cities and countries. (5) The frequency of visiting art exhibition was a significant variation among the all or the sub layers of the attitudes toward art. (6) The Parents’ social-economical status was a significant variation among the all or “the attitude towards art value” layer of the attitudes toward art. The higher status of the parents , the more positive attitude they possessed. 3.The different curriculum variation of the attitudes toward art of the elementary students are in the following: (1) Implementing different curriculums was a significant variation among the all layers especially in “the attitude towards art value”, “the attitude towards learning art” and “the attitude towards multi-culture art and the artists” . (2) There was a significant variation among the all or the sub layers before and after implementing the curriculum in the category of Arts and the Humanities. Base on the results , this study would propose some advices for the art education in elementary schools, teachers’ training institutes and governments, communities and parents, and researches in art education teaching and further researches.
