碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 護理研究所 === 92 === The effects of breast reconstruction on quality of life in breast cancer women have been documented in western country. However, the issue related study report is still lack in our country. In order to understand and promote the quality of life in breast cancer women, the purposes of this study were to survey and compare the breast cancer treatment outcomes and the quality of life in the breast women who received mastectomy or breast reconstruction by using a structured questionnaire. A cross-sectional study was designed; the qualified subjects were selected from two teaching hospitals in Taipei City. Total of one hundred and ten valid questionnaires were collected. The data were assigned into the mastectomy group(56 patients)and the breast reconstruction group(54 patients)by subjects received breast reconstruction or not. Result revealed as followings: The quality of life of study subjects after mastectomy or breast reconstruction was above median level. The change in scores of breast cancer operation treatment outcomes questionnaire was positively correlated with the quality of life questionnaire. The breast reconstruction operation could improve the quality of life in breast cancer women.
