Abstract
This purpose of this study is to probe into the counseling effects of self-concepts and the adjustments of living on elementary school students’ of remote areas and discuss the possibilities of the future development. As far as the remote areas concerned, the living environment, equipments and learning stimulations of their students are worse than the some certain areas. This study will discuss the influences of biblioguidance on the effects of elementary school students’ self-concepts and the adjustments of living.
The quasi-experimental design was used in this study which divided into the samples into the experimental group and the test group. Based on the limitations of the location and difficulties of the gathering people, this study will adopt sixty- three people of three schools into the experiment. Besides, the experimental groups of this research subjects were thirty -seven people of Chung Hsing Primary School and the control groups were twenty -six people of Tai He Primary School and Ren He Primary School which can’t accept any experimental dealing. The tools of his study are “ Children’s Self-Concept Inventory in Elementary School” and “Children’s Life-Adjustment Inventory in Elementary School”. Before the progress, all students were tested with the pretest, posttest and delay test whose data was analyzed by using the analysis of covariance. Furthermore, based on subjects feedback, members’ journals, observation and interview information, it will helpful to realize the counseling effects of the higher grades of elementary school. According to the findings above and combining the findings, the implications were discussed and the suggestions for future researches were proposed.
The thematic results are as follows:
1. After the biblioguidance, the experimental group’s “Children’s Self-Concept Inventory in Elementary School” and “Children’s Life-Adjustment Inventory in Elementary School” has remarkable instant effects.
2. After the four weeks of class biblioguidances, the experimental group’s “Children’s Self-Concept Inventory in Elementary School” and “Children’s Life-Adjustment Inventory in Elementary School” has noticeable advances
3. The members of the experimental group performed better than bfore the posttest and the delay test.
Finally, according to the results, the important suggestions for education, counseling adoptions and future research were also provided.
