Abstract
The purposes of this study were to explore the ecological systems of dance class students at elementary schools in central Taiwan area; to compare the difference of ecological systems according to sociological variables, including residence area, socioeconomic status, grade and family types; to provide the direction and suggestion of parenting leisure education, and the teaching guidance for authorities’ policy-making.
The 289 parents of third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders were randomly sampled form six elementary schools with dance classes in central Taiwan. The instruments used in the study were: Ecological Systems Inventory of Special Children by Quin-Saw Wu and I-Ying Liu. The statistic analysis was performed with T-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffَe method. Conclusions for this study are as follows:
1.Comparing to the whole ecological system, the current ecological system for dance class students is excellent.
2.Different grades of dance class students do not show any distinct influence on the ecological system.
3.There was no significant difference in the means scores of ecological system in socioeconomic status of dance class students.
4. Students of dance class from different residence area do not show significant difference in their ecological system.
5.The dance class students from different family types do not show significant difference in their ecological system.
With the above findings and conclusions, we hope to give suggestions for the reference of the educational administration institutes, elementary schools and the dance class students’ parents.
