Explanative and Explorative Assignments

Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the learning characteristics and achievement on the geometric topics including circumcenter, incenter and barycenter with different assignments in the learning material. Those different assignments are explanation oriented and exploration oriented. We adopt the experimental study as the methodology. The samples consist of 69 9th grade students. This study reveals that students present drastic difference in questioning between two groups but show no significant difference in the achievement test.
