Derived from related literature, the researcher developed “Awareness Inventory on Energy” and “Attitude toward Energy Questionnaire”. All the participants of this survey were teachers of elementary schools in central Taiwan, and the total valid returned replies for the questionnaires amounted 790, with an 87.8% return rate. Statistical analyses such as frequency, means, t-test, Pearson’s produce-moment correlation, and MANOVA were applied to examine the hypothesis of the study. The conclusions were as follows: The awareness toward energy as perceived by Elementary school teachers in central Taiwan was highly prepared, and their attitude toward energy was quite positive as well. Elementary school teachers in central Taiwan put much emphasis on “energy conservation” in terms of both awareness and attitude. Elementary school teachers of different sexes, ages, marriage status, administrative positions in schools and the location of schools presented significant differences on awareness toward energy. There were significant differences on attitudes toward energy as perceived by Elementary school teachers in central Taiwan according to their marital status, education, and number of years serving teaching. The level of awareness toward energy and the attitude toward energy as perceived by Elementary school teachers in central Taiwan revealed significant positive correlation. On the aspect of scoring of awareness of energy, Elementary school teachers in central Taiwan scored the highest on the “Introduction to Energy” section. As far as factor of attitude is concerned, the most positive factor is the “Energy Safety”. A total of thirteen suggestions were proposed to provide references for related authorities to promote energy education, and to pave the way for further studies.
