碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 管理科學系 === 92 === With the driver forces of technological innovation, economical demand related factors and deregulation, the new industry emerged from the convergence of information technology, telecommunications and media industries is known as mobile data services. GPRS, the dominant technology expected to continue the momentum achieved in 2G services, pilots the booming up mobile data communications into a brand-new world. The thesis seeks to define the key success factors of GPRS mobile data services industry in Taiwan thru industry convergence viewpoint from the three major drivers of industry convergence, technological innovation, demand-related factors and regulation factors. By mining of literatures related, collecting of secondary information materials, analyzing of global GPRS market status and interviewing of experts in the fields, a structured questionnaire is generated from for the investigation of KSFs of Taiwan’s GPRS mobile data services industry. In addition, the study utilizes statistical techniques, including descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA, to assess the total 60 issues for obtainment the KSFs of GPRS mobile data services industry in Taiwan. Consolidated to 18 KSFs with significant importance, there are 11 factors of 18 are associated to technological innovation part, 4 factors for demand-related aspect, and 3 for regulation factors, speculating that the technological innovation factor is the most important driving force of the converged industrial development. The conclusion shows the KSFs of Taiwan''s GPRS mobile data services industry in the developing mobile data services market. The corporate within the converged industry must change to face the challenges hence the successful experience brought from GPRS mobile data services industry will be adopted as to help developing corporate strategy, and pushing mobile data services market in Taiwan.
