Twelve junior middle high school swimmers volunteered as the subjects. All of the subjects performed three times of 1500m swimming at three water temperatures. One-way repeated ANOVA and Turkey post hoc t-comparisons were used to analyze the dependent variables. The alpha level was set at .05. The findings are as follows: (1) The 1500m swimming performance at 20℃ was significant lower than the other two environments. No different was found between 25℃ and 30℃ water temperature. (2) The blood lactate was no significance different among 20℃, 25℃, and 30 ℃ water temperature. (3) Proteinuria comparatively was significantly different in 25℃ and 30 ℃ differ water temperature. Abstract
Water temperature is one of the most importance factors great influenced on performance and this factor could not be controlled by swimmers and coaches. Therefore, the purposes of this study was to investigate the effects of 20℃ ,25℃ and 30 ℃ different water temperatures on 1500m swimming performance, blood lactate, and proteinuria, respectively. The findings are as follows:
(1) The 1500m swimming performance at 20℃ was significant lower than the other two environments.
It is concluded that water temperature influenced 1500m swimming performance and proteinuria. Therefore, the swimmer needs to be earlier to the competitive place to adapt the water temperature if one were to participate in 1500m swimming event in great competition.
