One has been involved with Judo since small, and until one had retired from National Champion, had one been fascinated by the whole course of a complete Judo training. Hence it’s the motivation for writing this book of Judo Technique.
The Author had recorded the life-long training that he had received, and integrated such accumulated experience to fabricate the basic concept of Judo Training research. The achievement of Judo is a direct result of context of the Judo training – in addition to the player’s Judo techniques, physical ability and spiritual strength, the author asserts that , in Taiwan, the training of Judo should start from the coach itself, as the coach is the soul of the whole training program.
So, what constitute a successful Judo training? A good coach holds a much more influential factor in comparison to the player itself. As the most talented person will require good coaching in order to accomplish. The Author stresses the followings as the must-have for a course of excellent Judo Training: 1. Coach’s professional experience in Judo. 2. The leadership attribute of a coach. 3. A well-organized training plan. 4. Effective communication between the coach and the player’s parents will facilitate effective communication with the player. 5. Well understanding and utilization of the current trend and the evolution of Judo into the training. 6. Solid and well disciplined basic movement is crucial for the player’s achievement, and the future aspects. 7. An excellent Judo player must possess at least one “killer technique” to prevail. 8. Judo Training can be improved scientifically; progress can be made via physics, psychology, threpsology, physiology, biochemistry, and fitness management. 9. With accessible equipments can be dubbed into effective training devices to strengthen specific physical vigor to achieve the optimal training outcome. This could save some budgets too. 10. Judo training has to be constantly reviewed and reevaluated: recording and feedback are essential for improvement.
There is no shortcut or absolute measurement over Judo training, nor is there a technique to guarantee winnings. Yet, a Judo coach must consistently study and seek new techniques for training. Moreover, in addition to these, a Judo coach’s devotion and leadership are indispensable.
With an aim to coach a world class Judo player, the author compiled his life-long experience in acquiring, and coaching Judo with his dedication in Sports Science in this book. This technique paper contains 10 chapters. The Author welcomes readers’ comments on this book, and discussion for future development in Judo training.
