Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 電機工程學系 === 92 === The study on the input impedance of biconical antennas was first reported by Schelkunoff in 1941. Then more improvement and extension were accomplished by Smith and Tai. There are many solutions available to solve this type of problems. In this thesis, Mode Matching technique is employed to calculate the input impedance of wide-angle biconical antennas. Two cases are considered: antennas with infinitesimal fed gap width, which has one spherical boundary and antennas with finite fed gap width, which has two spherical boundaries. The solutions for both cases are not restricted to the biconical antennas with specific angles, but any angles. Moreover, the influence of the number of the higher-order modes in the antenna region on the input impedance of the antennas is also discussed. Its variation with respect to the antenna angle and the fed gap width is also analyzed.
