Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 機械工程學系碩博士班 === 92 === The pothole die is susceptible to failure when it is used in the hot extrusion of the high strength aluminum alloy. Through the FEM package DEFORM-3D and Taguchi experimental design method, this thesis systematically analyzes the stress of porthole die in the 3-D extrusion of high strength aluminum. According to the advices provided by the die designer and the fracture positions on the porthole die, the tool geometric parameters were set into several values. Taguchi’s orthogonal array is applied to plan the simulation experiments simulated by FEM. The predicted results showed the die stress variation in extrusion process. After Taguchi’s response analysis, the differences between the levels among parameters were shown. Therefore, the influence of each factor for the die stress was understood, the optimal design parameters were obtained.
The positions of high effective stress obtained by the FEM simulation agreed quite well with the facture positions of the actual porthole die. The porthole die extrusion process with design parameters obtained by Taguchi method were simulated. The simulation result showed that it is a feasible scheme.
